Brunswick HS Senior John Murphy Honored   The MIAAA is very pleased to report to you that John Murphy, a senior at Brunswick High School, who created the MIAAA male student essay winning report and presented at our spring conference luncheon has been selected as the NIAAA Section I male winner for 2015. This selection earns John an additional $ 1,500 in scholarship, a plaque from the NIAAA and the opportunity to compete as a part of the elite 8 scholar essayists in the country for the national championship. We congratulate John and Brunswick High School for this outstanding representation of the quality of work by student athletes in the state of Maine.

The Maine Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (MIAAA) is proud to provide a new nonprofit service designed to assist families in being properly educated about the athletic collegiate recruiting process. The Recruiting Education Foundation, Inc., a 501(c) 3 nonprofit venture, is now providing MIAAA with recruiting webinars for high school athletes and their families in the state of Maine. The Webinar will cover the following topics:

• Three rules of being a parent
• Scholarship myths and facts
• NAIA and JUCO education
• Scholarships, do they differ?
• The Name Game
• Negotiate/Cooperative Education
• Dangers of social networking/cell phones
• National Letter of Intent
• NCAA/NAIA Eligibility Centers
• Recruiting Services
• NCAA core course requirements
